Om man läser den här boken noga har man inte längre några ursäkter när man gör positionella misstag! Rekommenderas! Positionsschack kan spelas och förstås på flera nivåer. På högsta nivån blir balansen mellan taktik och strategi hårfin. Varje drag har ett syfte och mening. Gelfand som var världstrea redan 1990 och spelade oavgjort i VM-matchen mot Anand 2012 har skolningen, talangen och intresset (!) att förmedla allt viktigt han tänkt på före, under och efter partierna. Han länkar till partier som spelades av bland andra Rubinstein och Capablanca för att visa att hans briljans inte har uppstått i ett vakum. Om man har problem att vinna bra/vunna ställningar kan det hända att man har metodproblem. Dessa kan avhjälpas genom att studera Gelfands ovanliga tålamod och systematik i ställningarna.
