Denna bok på 542 sidor och boken Bologan's Black Weapons på 528 sidor ger svartspelarna en stabil, pålitlig och samtidigt för vitspelarna en krävande repertoar som kommer hålla i många år. Att spela sunt och starkt mot 1.e4 är inte så lätt. Men om man spelar 1...e5 ligger man väldigt nära. Länge har Spanskt 1.e4 e5 2.Sf3 Sc6 Lb5! ansetts ge svart en svår väg till utjämning.
